The following Statement of Faith represents the foundational biblical beliefs of Sharing the Journey and serves as the ministry’s doctrinal basis for teaching, discipleship, publications, and ministry resources.
The Holy Scriptures
We believe that the Bible, consisting of the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired Word of God. We believe that Scripture is trustworthy, authoritative, and sufficient for faith, doctrine, instruction, and daily Christian living. God’s Word reveals His character, His plan of redemption, and His purposes for humanity.
God
We believe in one eternal God who exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is the Creator and Sustainer of all things and is perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, justice, mercy, truth, and love.
Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, fully God and fully man. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, sacrificial death on the cross for the sins of humanity, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, and future return. Jesus Christ is Lord, Savior, Redeemer, and the only way to reconciliation with God.
The Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells, teaches, guides, convicts, comforts, equips, and empowers believers for Christian living, spiritual growth, service, and witness. The Holy Spirit works within believers to produce Christlike character and spiritual maturity.
Humanity
We believe that all people are created in the image of God and possess inherent value and dignity. Because of sin, humanity is separated from God and in need of salvation. Every person stands in need of God’s grace and redemption through Jesus Christ.
Salvation
We believe that salvation is a gift of God’s grace received through faith in Jesus Christ. It cannot be earned through human effort, works, or personal merit. Through faith in Christ, individuals receive forgiveness of sins, reconciliation with God, and the promise of eternal life.
The Church
We believe that the Church is the body of Christ, composed of all believers united through faith in Jesus Christ. The Church exists to worship God, proclaim the Gospel, make disciples, encourage believers, serve others, and demonstrate God’s love to the world.
Christian Living
We believe that followers of Jesus Christ are called to live lives marked by faith, obedience, integrity, compassion, humility, stewardship, service, and love. Christian faith is intended to influence every area of life, including family, work, ministry, relationships, community involvement, and personal conduct.
Concentric Circles of Life and Ministry
Sharing the Journey embraces the principle of Concentric Circles of Life and Ministry. We believe that spiritual growth begins with Christ at the center of life and extends outward through family, church, community, vocation, ministry, and service. As believers mature in Christ, they are called to reflect His character and truth throughout every circle of influence entrusted to them.
The Great Commission
We believe that Jesus Christ calls His followers to share the Gospel, make disciples, teach God’s Word, and serve others in His name. Every believer has a role in God’s mission and is called to faithfully represent Christ within their sphere of influence.
The Return of Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ will return as He promised. We live with hope and expectation, seeking to be faithful stewards of the life, opportunities, and responsibilities God has entrusted to us until His return.
